FLOYD MEMORIAL LIBRARY
Minutes (approved) of regular meeting February 1, 2010.

Members present: Keith McCamy, Rosemary Gabriel, Nancy Fischer, Maggi Travis, Buffy Hartmann, Diane Mulvaney and Director Lisa Richland.

Absent: Michael Collins.

The Board meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm.

The minutes of January 4, 2010 were approved on motion of 1) Travis, 2). Gabriel, unanimous.

The bills were ordered paid on motion of 1) McCamy, 2) Collins, unanimous.  The treasurer’s reports were accepted and filed for audit.

Communications.  More cards from the staff thanking us for the holiday appreciation gesture.  The Association of Library Trustees and Advocates (ALTA) has merged with Friends of Libaries, U.S.A. (FOLUSA) to form a new division of the American Library Association (ALA) called the Association for Library Trustees, Advocates, Friends and Foundations (ALTAFF).

Committees:

Building & Grounds: another bid has been received for painting the restrooms, approved 1) McCamy, 2) Travis, unanimous.  A cracked window in the  basement can also be repaired by the same workers.  We are looking at the changes needed to enlarge the Young Adults area, by swapping it with the DVD storage area.

Garden: will meet on Friday to consider Lily’s spring planting program, “read & seed”.

Policy: Committee needs to meet to draft an “Acquisition and Disposal Policy”, requested by the NYS Education Department.

Unfinished Business:  The staff appreciation party will be held on a date to be announced – probably in March.  Diane Mulvaney will plan it.

Meeting adjourned at 7:37 on a motion of McCamy.  The next meeting will be Monday, March 8, 2010, at 7:00 pm.
