FLOYD MEMORIAL LIBRARY
Minutes (approved) of regular meeting March 8, 2010.

Members present: Keith McCamy, Rosemary Gabriel, Nancy Fischer, Maggi Travis, Buffy Hartmann, Michael Collins and Director Lisa Richland.

Absent: Diane Mulvaney.

The Board meeting was called to order at 7:03 pm.

The minutes of February 1, 2010 were approved on motion of 1) Travis, 2). Gabriel, unanimous.

The bills were ordered paid on motion of 1) McCamy, 2) Collins, unanimous.  The treasurer’s reports were accepted and filed for audit.

Communications.  The annual meeting of the Trustee Institute of  the NYSALB (Association of Library Boards ) will be held on Long Island for the first time – in Mellville.

Committees:

Budget & Finance: A first draft of the new budget will be coming soon.

Building & Grounds: the painters will be coming quite soon.  The mockingbird has returned.

Garden: Lily’s childrens program will manage with paper cups, indoors, until things warm up a bit, outside.

Policy: to aid the issuance of library cards, especially to children, it was moved that children can get cards even if their parents have outstanding fines, and that fines incurred by anyone prior to the suspension of fines two years ago will be removed from the record, by 1) McCamy, 2) Fischer, unanimous.

Unfinished Business:  Ideas are solicited for the staff appreciation party.  Visiting a bowling alley was mentioned.

New Business: The 2009 New York State statistical report was approved for filing.

Meeting adjourned at 7:34 on a motion of McCamy.  The next meeting will be Monday, April 5, 2010, at 7:00 pm.
